Life is a Cabaret is my journey on the road to creating, rehearsing, and finally putting together my own Cabaret show.   I have never put together my own solo show, so in that regard I’m a newbie to the Cabaret scene of New York City.   I have been taking classes in the art of Cabaret for a little over two years now so I do know some things - and am finally comfortable with a microphone and a stool.   I’ve been working with Lennie Watts, Steven Ray Watkins, and Patrick DeGennaro - these names you will hear a lot over the course of the next year while I work on putting together my show.  Please join me in my process of everything from song selection to wardrobe choices.   Enjoy!

  1. Diana Vytell Said,

Your blog is great. It has echoed many of my thoughts. I have been singing forever! I have a few years on you! However, my performing started at 3 on my grandmother’s antique washtub in the backyard, and progressed to classical singing, yada yada. I have had to retrain my voice, to sing cabaret, and have been doing cabaret since 2003. I now live in Sarasota, Florida, and will be coming up North to CT for 3 months. Hope to meet.
    Diana
